I remember when I first got married and we went to our first marriage conference. We had been married about 6 months, I was telling my father I would be out of town for the weekend for the marriage conference. At that point he looked at me and said, “man already.” Which meant you guys just got married and your going to a marriage conference. For many people a marriage conference is a bad thing, because they think it means you’re having trouble in your marriage. In reality it’s being proactive about helping your marriage before you have any issues. A marriage conference gives you the tools to use so when issues arise you have what you need to properly fix the problems. Therefore don’t allow misconceived notions stop you from doing all you can to protect the legacy you want to leave behind for others.
